Imagine if everyone had the opportunity to contribute to their community, build relationships with their neighbours, and be valued for their presence.

THE NEIGHBOURS PROJECT is an initiative aimed at creating connections between neighbours from different socio-economic backgrounds to one another, particularly between housed and unhoused community members.

Unhoused neighbours are often looked at as ‘problems’ or a threat to the community by those who are housed. Unhoused neighbours in this situation are disenfranchised, marginalized, and made feel undervalued in a place they consider home. But what if we could change this?

What if everyone in the neighbourhood had to opportunity to contribute to their community, build relationships with their neighbours, and be valued for their presence?

In partnership with the Mustard Seed, and with the generous support if the City of Edmonton and McConnell Foundation, THE NEIGHBOURS PROJECT is exploring this question by looking at the power of work and the role it can play in creating community.
